The Miyawaki method is a rapid afforestation technique founded in the 1980s by the late Japanese botanist Akira Miyawaki. To execute it, Prof. Miyawaki said it is possible with as little as 1000 sq. ft. of land. It took urban afforestation by storm as it fast-forwards the growth of forests in a short period.

As a wildlife photographer, I have spotted sunbirds at Woods Shamshabad multiple times during my Sunday bird walks. When the monsoon arrived this year, we had regular sightings of different types of sunbirds across the property, such as Purple sunbirds and Purple-rumped sunbirds.

As a wildlife photographer, I often find beauty in nature – exciting patterns formed by scales, contrasting colour combinations, shades and grains, and beautiful tesselations. I have seen scales big and small, and the beauty in everyday life never ceases to amaze me.
